HMV returns to making music

HMV, which has a retailer in Cheltenham, has launched its own music label, 1921 Records, as reported by Retail Gazette.

Newcastle-based singer-songwriter India Arkin is the primary singing to 1921 Records, which shall be on sale solely in HMV’s high avenue and online shops.

Doug Putman, who bought HMV in 2019, mentioned the model new label will help artists to get noticed in a tough trade, the place streaming algorithms make it hard for them to get their voices heard.
